November News

Ogle had the pleasure of hosting author, Katie Klise on Friday, November 4.  Ms. Klise visited with our students and shared ideas on writing and illustrating.  We have quite a few aspiring young authors here at Ogle.  Find out more about Ms. Klise at http://kateandsarahklise.com/

Ogle will host the annual Veteran's Day Assembly this Friday, November 11.  We invite all of our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters who have served our wonderful country.  Students will make introductions of all of our veterans, special music and essays will be shared.  Please join us at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Today is Ogle Chick Fil A Spirt Night.  Please visit the Chick Fil A location at Custer and 121.  Place your child's teacher's name on the back of the receipt for credit.  Thanks for supporting Ogle Elementary!

Early October Happenings

Campuses through FISD will be conducting parent conferences Monday, October 10.  Ogle teachers have contacted parents to schedule a time to meet.  If you have not had an opportunity to respond, please do so ASAP.  This is a good opportunity to gain insight on your child's progress.  The Specials staff and Support Staff at Ogle are also offering times for conferences.  Please feel free to contact the teacher directly to coordinate a time to meet. We appreciate your partnership.
Students will not be in school on Monday.

Ogle PTA has extended the Cookie Dough Sales through Monday, October 10.  Students should return order forms no later than Tuesday, October 11.  Thank you for supporting Ogle PTA.  This organization is instrumental in providing funding for special assemblies such as the Drum Cafe and also continually supports our classrooms by purchasing instructional resources which enhance the learning for your child.

We had an overwhelming response for several of our afterschool activities.  Art Club, Ogle Chorale and Fitness Club are underway.  If your child was not able to participate in Art Club during this first session, opportunities will be presented later this year.

Please remember cell phones should be turned off when driving in a school zone.  We appreciate your understanding with safety for our students.

Week of September 12-16

Thanks to the beautiful weather this past week, Ogle students were finally able to enjoy a little time outdoors for recess. Frisco ISD has established Outdoor Recess Guidelines.  Students will not have outdoor recess on days when the temperature reaches 94 degrees (at the time they would be outside) or when the heat index is 100 degrees or greater OR when an actual red ozone warning has been issued in Collin County. When there is an actual orange ozone warning in Collin County, time spent outside will be restricted to half its normal length.  During the winter months all students should come prepared for outdoor play with coat, gloves, scarf, etc. to be appropriately dressed for the weather.  The temperature would have to be very cold, (below 40 or 32 degrees wind-chill) before students would not be allowed to enjoy their recess time, even though that time may be reduced.

College Week, Book Fair and Grandparents Week are scheduled this week.  Refer to the grade level website for special activities planned during the week.  Students are encouraged to invite grandparents or a special adult for lunch.  Don't forget to stop by the Book Fair.

Also Ogle PTA will host it's first General Meeting for the year on Thursday evening at 6:30.  We have a tradition of kicking off the year with an Ice Cream Social.  Please come and mingle with the Ogle staff, PTA representatives and meet other Ogle families.  The Book Fair will open immediately following the business meeting.
